Day 63 – MWaP – Survivor’s Handbook – Chapter 3: Self Care
Tonight’s show discusses self-care for survivors, and hints for those who want to support survivors.
MWaP – Survivor’s Handbook – Chapter 2: Trauma
Here’s segment #2 of Survivor’s Handbook — on trauma.
Day 51 – MWaP – Ask the Madwoman about Sports Drive and Life Changes
Tonight’s Ask the Madwoman segment included answers/responses to the following inquiries:
Where did this athletic drive come from in [my son] that was never there before high school?
How do you (or any one) take abrupt changes in life?
i’m always looking for tips on how to handle passive aggressive folks who don’t know how to be vulnerable.
Day 49 – Survivor’s Handbook Chapter 1: Stats — and I learn something
Here’s tonight’s show — Trigger Warning for explicit talk about rape and sexual assault.
I’ve been kind of sweating launching the Survivor’s Handbook series (you might have noticed my lack of posts for the past few days), and it went fairly easily for me. I had been concerned about it being possibly triggering for me, but in general, beyond a bit of initial nervousness, it went well.
Right after the show finished, though, Beloved told me that the neighbor kid had come over to let us know that he’d hit our van on the street. I went out to take a look and talk to his father (who didn’t answer the door). It’s mostly cosmetic, but pretty bad.
When I came back into the house, a friend who’d watched the show messaged me: “Are You OK? That was hard for ME to watch, and I’m not a survivor.” It was then that I noticed that I felt shaky — which could be totally ascribed to the car/confront neighbor guy stuff — but then I heard this wee, tiny survivor voice in my head: “See? When you talk about this stuff, bad things happen.”
I’m grateful she asked how I was, because I think I would have missed this otherwise, and it’s important for me to know that these tropes and myths are still crawling around in my mental attic. I actually do feel fine, and it’s a miracle for me that I could even consider doing these segments. I plan on having a transcript of this episode as soon as I get it typed up.
Day 44 — MWaP Ask the Madwoman about Cat Lies and Ambition
Tonight, I answered questions about what to do when your cat lies to you, and gave thoughts on ambition, doingness, and contentment/satisfaction.
Day 39 — MWaP Police Blotter Nothingness
This week, my dear friend Laura joined me again for the Police Blotter — that girl just makes me lololololol.
Day 37 MWaP-What Do You Want For the World?7
Here’s tonight’s episode of “Ask the Madwoman” — the one and only question was: “What do you most wish for humans in the next couple of years?” Enjoy!
Day 35 – MWaP Friday Ramble — Survivor’s Handbook
Tonight, I talked about the topic that’s been nudging at me — and about a project I’ve got kicking around in my head.
Day 32 – MWaP 100th Episode!
This is the 100th episode of MWaP — Carol reads from the PT Police Blotter. Laura comments. Hilarity ensues.
Day 30 – MWaP Ask the Madwoman Moves Me to Revelation
Well, I missed blogging again yesterday, but I’m coming to the conclusion that missing 2 days out of 30 is really alright with me. So, here’s tonight’s MWaP “Ask the Madwoman” segment — it bears directly on the dilemma that I wrote about about a few days ago.
I’m approaching show #100 (this coming Tuesday), and I plan to use shows #101 – 200 for a new revelational intention. The show below is a preface/preparation for that new cycle.
